Xray CT Room Installation Material Lead Glass
The main component of medical lead glass is lead oxide, which has
the function of blocking radiation.
Lead glass shall be used as diagnostic X-ray room, CT, ECT, PET, CT-PET and other room, as well as X-ray
photographic protection room, observation window on protective
screen of protective door, and operational
protective screen for nuclear medicine.
The composition of lead glass is rmon-pbo-sio2 (B2O3).In the
formula, SiO2(B2O3), namely silicon oxide (boron oxide),
is called the network formation, and is the basic unit constituting
the glass network structure.
RmOn, which represents the metal oxides of alkali, alkaline earth
and rare earth metals, is a network modification that
makes the glass network structure change and achieve the adjustment
characteristics.PbO, or lead oxide, is the characteristic component
that gives the glass its basic properties.
In the medical field, leaded glass is also called medical X-ray radiation-proof leaded glass plate.
Lead glass is the most important component in X-ray/CT room
installation and is often used in Windows.
We can provide lead glass of different thickness, normal thickness
from 12mm to 25mm, or provide customized size service.
The most common sizes are 200*300mm to 2400*1200mm.
Customization is used not only for cutting, but also for thinning.

Attention:
1. Lead glass is a brittle material with a large proportion, so it
must be handled gently when it is moved.
2. When installation, the glass must be mismatched with the wall
protection material to prevent radiation leakage at the joint.
3. As lead glass materials are rich in lead and barium, lead glass
is easy to be contaminated by acid and base,
and is not easy to be installed or stored in a sour or humid
environment.
4. The surface of lead glass is more easily scratched than that of
ordinary glass and should be handled with care.
Packing & Delivery
It will be installed and kept in a wooden box with foam shock
absorbing sponge in the middle of each piece of lead glass.
Due to the large weight of lead glass, most of the time we
recommend shipping by sea, so moisture-proof measures are
also necessary as a protective measure.
